Around the world, in countries at all development levels, many millions of jobs and businesses are dependent on a strong and thriving tourism sector. Tourism has also been a driving force in protecting natural and cultural heritage, preserving them for future generations to enjoy.
But it also works the other way around ! During the past endemic/pandemic, many workers in the hospitality industry were forced to find other jobs to survive … Now when travel bans have been lifted and borders are open again, it takes time to rebuild everything again ! Hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions need to find staff again or get new staf trained to expected levels from oversea’s tourists. Some hotels and restaurants are still understaffed (alo due to economic rebuilding) but try their best to welcome their international guests again in the best way they can.
